First off, you need to get rid of all of the excess food particles that you may have spilled together with the salad. Use your fingers to carefully remove the solid food particles and for the excess oil, you may use a paper towel or a clean white cloth to absorb it from the carpet fibers.

Now that you have cleared up the area, the next assignment that you need to do is to get rid of the salad oil stain that is on the carpet. For this, you will need to apply some isopropyl rubbing alcohol onto a cotton ball and then use this to dab the stained area. This will help in breaking down the stain for easier removal.

Next, get a small amount of non-bleach laundry detergent, about 1/4 teaspoon, and then mix this with 3/4 liters of water. Place this detergent cleaning solution inside a container and then use some of it onto the stain. Let the stain soak in the cleaning solution for about five minutes before moving to the next step.

Blot the stained area repeatedly using a clean white cloth. Doing this will help transfer the stain from the carpet fibers and onto the cloth surface. After several attempts you will be able to get rid of it completely.

For the final step, rinse the area you just cleaned with some water to remove the residue. Then, dry it up using some clean towels before using the carpet once again.
